Nelson and Roy Bellows grew up in West Cambridge, attending and graduating from Shady Hill School and the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School.

We discussed the idea of creating Montclair Mail after attending the memorial service for our grandmother. Much of the service was guided by family and friends reading our grandmothers letters aloud, either to inform a story or to demonstrate her ability to make them feel loved and seen.

We were shocked by the emotion and love that could be conveyed through the act of writing, and sending a letter. It felt like we’d rediscovered an art, one that had been lost as our society tried to replicate this process with texts and calls.

The mission of Montclair mail is to help people rediscover the joy of writing and receiving letters. We’ve worked to centralize the various components of the process to make it straightforward, while adding vintage stamps and luxury bespoke options to enhance the personalization of letter-writing.
